Surya Spa Garden
The first garden I designed and installed was a collaboration between myself and classmates from Larry Santoyo’s Permaculture Academy, Eminé Turan, Nathalie Callahan, Andrew McDonald and JD Cerince.
With a lot of help from our friends, we did a lawn conversion for an Ayurvedic Spa, that included a seating area, a vegetable garden and a fire pit/rain catchment device.
We utilized recycled concrete to outline all the pathways and created a beautiful, lush food garden.
The garden was selected to be part of the Pacific Palisades annual garden tour, but for privacy reasons the owners declined to participate.

Raised Garden Beds for a Nonprofit Organization
I planted and maintained 2 large vegetable boxes and created a butterfly garden. I used a mix of space saving varieties of vegetables with some ornamental seasonal flowers. Simple bamboo trellises supported the growing vines.
The vegetables benefited from the placement of the boxes in front of a white wall with an easterly exposure which reflected light and maximized heat without being burned by the evening sun.
